ABOUT US

Save the Girls Zambia (formerly known as Rural Children’s Hope) is a non-profit organisation operating in Zambia.

Established in 1996, our vision is to make the Zambian society a place where all girls are healthy, educated and attain their wildest dreams.

Through our work we support girls and boys (0-24 years) to achieve higher confidence, competence and to gain future careers.

About Save The Girls

Save The Girls (STG) formerly know as Rural Children’s Hope (RCH) is a Non-Governmental Organization which was formed in 1996 by Prof. Dhally Menda and Mrs. Christine Mwasiti, to raise awareness of children’s rights and address their needs, in a constantly changing world

We were first registered with the Registrar of Society on 24th day of September 2003, under the Registration Number ORS/102/20/187.

With the enactment of the NGO Bill, STG was then re-registered with the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare on 02nd of October 2014 under the Registration Number RNGO101/0354/14.

What We Value

  • We Excel

We put in our best and give the best to the girls and their entourage. We do unto others what we would like others to do unto us.

  • We are Transparent

In whatever we do, our left hand knows what the right hand is doing. We are open to the girls, their entourage and to our partners.

  • We are Holistic

We take care of the girl’s body, spirit and soul. We cater for her entourage: boys, siblings, parents and the community at large.

  • We are Committed

With good will, we render our services to the girls as to the Lord, and not to men.

  • We Account

Accountability is at the core of our work. We ensure good stewardship of the girls, their entourage, and of our resources.

  • We Disrupt

Disruption is the drive of all our programmes. We disrupt the status quo in both the girls, their entourage, our staff and our programmes.

Our Philosophy

Save The Girls believes that all the problems that adolescent girls and young women are experiencing in their lives are caused by:

  1. a dysfunctional social-cultural and structural foundation;
  2. an uneven biological transformation; and
  3. unsmooth social capital transitions.

Therefore, each and every person on this planet has the potential to fine tune their role, and to help solve this challenge.

We are trying to be that catalytic force in the lives of the Deprived, Excluded and Vulnerable Girls; and strongly believe that you can be part of this movement.
If you think that the girl’s life is broken, then join us, as we help her fix it!

Save The Girls is based on the belief that: “Adequately equipped with skills, every girl can design her own bright future.”

Our Belief

“Adequately equipped with skills,
every girl can design her own bright future.”
